Graphic Design & Business Technology

The Graphic Design & Business Technology program equips students with the creative, technical, and entrepreneurial skills needed to thrive in today’s digital and business-driven world. This dynamic program blends visual communication with real-world business applications, allowing students to explore design principles, branding, marketing, and emerging technologies. In addition to this, students have the opportunity to create pieces through our award-winning visual arts courses.

Students will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard software to create digital graphics, logos, advertisements, and multimedia content while also developing skills in project management, entrepreneurship, and business communication. Through collaborative projects and real-world simulations, students learn how to think creatively, solve problems, and present ideas effectively.

In addition to building a strong design portfolio, students will explore topics such as digital marketing, e-commerce, and professional practices, preparing them for both college and career pathways in fields like graphic design, marketing, business management, and technology. The program emphasizes innovation, professionalism, and adaptability—ensuring graduates are ready to succeed in a competitive and evolving global marketplace.

Our students also compete in city and borough wide Art competitions, including the PS Art 2021 Exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The celebrated artwork to the left, is a HART student's and is featured on the Metropolitan Museum website.

THE MEMORY PROJECT

Each year, select students participate in The Memory Project. This is a program where we partner with orphans or refugee children from another country and students create an artwork based on their photo. These are then sent back to the children. The program is a great opportunity for students to engage in a global exchange!
