inside the gym at the health Arts Robotics and technology high school normally there's basketball drills going on but today is drone drills and the principal says that's because technology is about the future and is now it brings jobs jobs careers in March 1st this competition bring the best and the brightest students coyote is he tells his students all the time the sky is the limit when it comes to learning here it's literally taking off into the sky I could feel your excitement yes you're like a kid today I am I'm very excited it's it's it's a dream come true are you at a wall says 8 years ago when he first started as the principal it was a failing school now it's a high-performing School who's flying who's flying he believes it was focusing on teaching technology that turned things around and his jobs potential jobs too right could we have Readiness is a is a goal of our Chancellor here by myself so I take it personal to ensure that great Readiness is the future of our school the gym converted into a robotics playground pool is hosting the first of its kind aerial drone competition in the state here every maneuver matters and every second counts he says you're 1 of the best I mean it is 18 year old sad AMU is competing against high school students from 6 other schools there are 6 students per team and they go through different challenges like this 1 the air draft of the Drone pushes these balls through a track the pressure is on then this challenge students have to control the Drone so it fits under these arches you can't bump into anything including plus I already jumped up to school that had this kind of programs and to see what happened in life in front of me and seeing the Joy on the faces of my students and so exhilarating and I'm so excited to have this opportunity for my students right now the robotics program is only 2 years old and seniors if you are graduated many are licensed to be professional drone operators if you want more information about their school about the programs here just go to Monica Morales TV on all of our social media platforms I will wait for you there loving these drones woo in Queens Monica Morales 611 news thank you thank you that was great well the Big Apple paying tribute to the city
